The Role:
** The APC safety management system is based on a continuous improvement model and is supported throughout the organisation.
** APC are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional individual to join the APC HSE team as a Health and Safety Officer and support the APC systems.
** Working with the APC Health and Safety Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering site requirements and advising the APC Project team on health and safety issues.
** The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to build relationships at all levels and to influence decision making and safe behaviours on the APC projects and sites.
** It is essential that the individual is practical and proactive with the ability to innovate and contribute to our strong team ethic.
** When it comes to our many exciting and challenging projects and contracts, safety is a priority.
** In fact, it’s one of APC’s core values and a key part of our project management process.
** That’s why it’s so important that we find a Health and Safety Officer that will fit in with our teams, to monitor and develop performance in these areas and report accordingly.
Duties:
** Continuous promotion of Safety, Health and Environment and APC standards on projects
** Support for the HSE team and Project manager as required
** HSE Project and documentation support
** Attend weekly project HSE meetings and assist in the production of an APC monthly Newsletter
** Ensure compliance with current HSE legislation and maintain an awareness of legislative changes and industry standards e.g. OHSAS 18001:2007, 14001 and preparation for ISO 45001, etc.
** Obtaining and reviewing Safety documentation from clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
** Preparation and delivery of the site tool box talks and collation of feedback/good catches with follow up and site documentation such as the daily safety report
** Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans, site training plans and the maintain equipment registers
** Assist the site team in the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, lifting plans and associated documents and records
