Audio Visual Specialist (MCG/AVT3) :
Applications are invited to fill the following Temporary post at the National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ)
Job Purpose :
Under the direction of the Chief Curator, the Audio Visual Specialist will be responsible for providing quality expertise using computer graphics, audio and video techniques, educational media and technology in support of the National Gallery’s curatorial and educational activities. This includes photography, videography poster design, catalogue and signage design and layout.
Key Responsibilities :
Develops, designs the layout of brochures, flyers, newsletters, signs, labels, banners, backdrops Facilitates the design and layout of the Gallery’s website Assists with the planning and mounting of exhibitions prepares graphs, charts, posters, scripts and signage for exhibitions Oversees the acquisition, maintenance and use of audiovisual equipment Liaises with Educational Outreach officers to conceptualize storyboards and prepares multi-media outreach package Provides information, layout and text in print-ready form Facilitates the design, type-setting and pre-press publication of Gallery publications Liaises with digital and lithographic printing companies to ensure the successful and timely printing of Gallery publications Prepares photographs to accompany publications and news releases Organizes and maintains the Gallery’s collection of photographic negatives, prints and digital images Photographs art objects for registration and publications Ensures that photographic services (conventional and digital) are provided at formal and informal events
Minimum Qualification/Experience/Competencies :
** Diploma from the Edna Manley College with a specialization in Graphic Arts or Bachelor of Arts with specialization in Computer Graphics
** Certified training in conventional and digital photography
** Three (3) years of related experience
