ViaWest’s procurement group is looking for a talented individual to join its team. The Procurement Specialist utilizes approved purchasing practices and applies strong knowledge to ensure products and/or services meet all requirements, including but not limited to quality, delivery, cost, and specification, while optimizing the supply base and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position has additional direct responsibility to terms facilitate process improvement opportunities and any/all other activities to meet cost reduction targets and optimize benefits.
Responsibilities include :
** Analytical preparation and review of management reporting (actual, forecast, last year and plan) relating to all aspects of the supplier management. Effectively track progress against the company’s operating plan, including coordination with business unit analysts. Ensure process provides timely, accurate and insightful reporting regarding business performance.
** Establishes proper sourcing processes and controls all procurement potential opportunities, resources and activities to deliver optimum impact of cost-cutting potential (procurement plan, target-costing) and to meet requirements relating to deadlines and quality.
** Analyzes vendor, partner and supplier contract agreements, carries out risk analyses and introduces negotiation recommendations.
** Manage execution of POs to suppliers based on current demand and run-rate
** Analyze changing market conditions and recommend adjustment to strategies accordingly
** Works with Director to determine method of procurement strategy that aligns to the commodity and or service and need and executes the vision. Educate and advise business partners and suppliers on strategies
** Interface with strategic sourcing partners and team to implement strategic contracts at the tactical level
** Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
** Support and execute competitive bid events
** Redirect tactical spend through strategic contracts/partners as appropriate
** Perform periodic analysis within managed commodity scope to identify savings, define efficiency opportunities and tactical initiatives that should be undertaken
** Promote process efficiencies through focus on automated channels where applicable
** Negotiate and contract with exceptional providers driving additional savings and value
** Track and report supplier performance and resolve any supplier performance issues in conjunction with the Director
** Identify any exception opportunities to the Managers and make recommendations on strategic approaches that might be taken
** Manage inventory to ensure product availability while minimizing risk of aging inventory and obsolescence.
** Work with suppliers/vendors to ensure that product is being purchased based on the best overall terms and conditions (price, availability, payment terms, return privileges, etc.).
** Develop, engage and maintain alternate sources for constrained and allocated products.
** Gather data from data based systems to assist in providing and maintaining dashboards with key performance indicators.
Minimum (MUST HAVE) Qualifications :
** Experience with writing installation and equipment purchases orders and agreements that support areas described above.
** 4 year college degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain Management
** 5-10 years purchasing experience in IT commodities : hardware, software, professional IT services, and telecommunications preferred
** Works with a sense of urgency and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment.
** Thrives in fast paced environment, be organized meticulously detailed and self-starter
** Experience sourcing and validating suppliers, vendor and supplier management, and inventory experience
** Experience in writing, understanding and using legal contracts, using reporting functionality (preferred)
** Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral
** PC literate (MS-Office and technically inclined)
** Assertive and able to negotiate large dollar contracts
** Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
** Solution’s oriented resolving problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
** Able to handle and delegate and manage large volumes of work.
** Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.
** Strong interest and experience working with technology, including new software tools and systems implementations
** Ability to analyze financial data and clearly and concisely document the interpretation of financial analysis, with exceptional attention to detail
** Must be an influential and effective communicator : must know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.
