1. Roadworks Superintendent : Fort McMurray, AB
Heavy North is also seeking to fill the position of Roadworks Superintendent for our Fort McMurray location.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
** Responsible for coordinating and directing gravel crews and equipment
** Responsible for coordinating survey for work
** Required to track and manage permeant materials and quantities for work
** Must have understanding and knowledge of Alberta Transportation specifications and standards
** Minimum five years of superintendent position in the construction field
** Quantity surveying knowledge
** Office software knowledge (Excel, Word, Estimating and Scheduling Software, Job Costing and Accounting)
** Experience managing client relations
** Excellent communication, organization, mathematical, and analytical skill are essential
** Excellent safety record and pro-safety attitude is a requirement to work for Heavy North
** Ability to lead a team with a positive attitude
** Attend all required meetings
** Lead safety tool box meetings
** Attention to JHA’s and safety requirements
** Ability to write required reports
** Maintain a clean and safe worksite with a high standard of housekeeping
2. Class 1 Drivers : Fort McMurray, AB
Heavy North is accepting resumes for the position of Class 1 Drivers for Fort McMurray.
Duties include but are not limited to :
** Lowbed Driver located in Fort McMurray
** Experienced Winch Truck Driver
** T880 Winch truck
** Doepker 65T 24Wh. Scissorneck Lowbed
** To safely operate tractor trailer units in diverse weather and challenging work site environments
** To follow all jurisdictional traffic safety legislation
** To load, securely carry, and unload safely heavy equipment through inter-provincial boundaries
** Prepare manifests and/or bills of lading, as required, for each transaction and ensure compliance with manifest
** Ensure all transport of hazardous and non-hazardous materials complies with TDG regulations
** Make certain all equipment/loads being transported meet all requirements relating to weight and dimension regulations for each jurisdiction traveled
** Communicate with customer and head office regarding expected onsite arrival and service requirements
** Fully complete and submit in a timely manner all required documentation. This includes logbooks, equipment inspection reports, time tickets, accompanying manifests, trip records, fuel, and credit card receipts
Requirements :
** Valid and current Class 1 Driver’s License with clean record
** Minimum of 3 to 5 years driving experience in the construction industry hauling heavy equipment
** Knowledge of Fort McMurray region and Western Canadian geography essential
** Knowledge of Hours of Service, load securement, required documentation, and driving regulations essential
** Excellent physical fitness is necessary
** Strong work ethic and flexibility in work schedule required
** Understanding of truck and trailer basic mechanics
** Strong safety ethics
