Hosting Engineer :
We are looking for a hosting engineer to work in our Software as a Service team. The ideal candidate must have experience and an excellent understanding of Virtualisation, web hosting and database technologies in a Linux environment.
The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering superior results, is comfortable working without close supervision and considers downtime a gut-wrenching personal insult. Responsibilities :
** Working to scale XenServer infrastructure
** Server monitoring and disaster recovery planning
** Documentation (procedures and records)
** Design, build and management of systems
** Backup management
** Analysis of server statistics
** Troubleshooting
** Setup of development, staging and live website environments
Essential Skills :
** You have a relevant degree (post-grad an advantage) and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
** You have a good understanding of Microsoft products including Windows Server
** You are expert in virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Xencenter
** You have excellent Linux knowledge
** You have perfected troubleshooting methodologies
** You are practised in networking, routing, WAN, VLAN, QoS and VPN
** You are expert at setting up databases, especially MS SQL and MySQL
** You are expert in web servers, especially Apache and IIS
** You have experience in the installation and configuration of PHP
** You understand Bash / Shell scripting
** You are fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written communications skills
** You are passionate about the cloud / SaaS
