Linux Systems Administrator :
2Connect is currently looking for Administrator, Linux systems. As a member of IT Team you will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of Linux systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Maintain and manage all aspects of Linux servers maintenance from operating system installation to patch updates.

Job Description & Responsibilities :
** Maintain and manage all aspects of Physical and Linux servers maintenance from operating system installation to routine updates.
** Create and maintain operational documentation for all the Linux-based platforms.
** Configure, maintain, and verify backup schedules for all the Linux servers and platforms.
** Monitor, identify, and resolve production capacity, contention and resource deficiencies.
** Research and recommend innovative solutions to improve infrastructure and its various components.
** Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
** Prioritize issues and address the top faults proactively under minimum supervision.
** Configure and maintain reporting platforms.
** Write rules to processing disparate types of raw log data in to structured information suitable for reporting.
** Close issues/problems within defined parameters.
** Perform routine backup and restore testing.
** Perform tasks with regards to systems hardening (Security, FIN, permissions).
** Maintain up to date User Access Control to servers and platforms.
** Maintain rules and policies for central configuration management of Linux servers.
** Plan and implement network connectivity for all servers and other related equipment.
** Assist vendor in implementing required integration as per engineering and management requests and guidelines.
** Assist Developers in integrating Linux systems as per engineering and management requests and guidelines.
** Immediately interface with Vendor Support to resolve issues when identified as a vendor platform issue.
** Integrate Linux platforms with network components.

Handles problems associated with :
Issues to do with all Linux servers

Is required to take decisions independently in connection with :
** Performing routine updates to configurations within IT policies and guidelines.
** Ad-hoc requests for analysis and review from staff members.

1. Skills :
** Ability to work independently, within Company operating guidelines.
** The ability to prioritise workload to planned and unplanned activities.
** Able to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences.
** Analyze and choose between options where the solution is not always obvious.
** Develop project plans and organize own workload on a timescale of 1–3 months.
** Adapt to rapidly changing priorities without losing sight of overall plans and priorities.
** Negotiate with suppliers when it comes to technical details of solutions and fixes.

2. Knowledge :
** In depth knowledge of advanced Linux operating system (Red Hat or Ubuntu certification is a plus).
** Working knowledge and experience with programming and shell scripting (e.g. PERL, Python, BASH, AWK, RegEx…etc).
** Working knowledge and understanding of telecom services (e.g. DNS, Mail, Web Hosting, NMS, Database…etc).
** Working knowledge and understanding of Networking (CCNA or CCNP is a plus).
** In depth knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software.

** Logical/methodical approach to product solutions and delivery of services and support.

** Identifies and voices issues that may harm the business.

Experience, Education & Qualifications :
** Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
** Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux/Unix.
** Four to four years system administration experience.
