Umedia is a Belgian studio of 100 people that offers its services to international film projects in five areas: development, production, film distribution in the Benelux, international sales and VFX.
Umedia VFX is a full service of visual effects for feature films. Our filmography includes “Oliver Twist” by Roman Polanski, “Grace of Monaco” by Olivier Dahan and “The Adventurer: the curse of the Midas Box” by Jonathan Newman.
For our upcoming projects, Umedia VFX is looking for an experienced Hair Specialist (M/F).
YOUR MISSION :
You have an advanced working knowledge of Maya and you have experience in creating hair/fur for creatures autonomously.
You propose artistic and technical solutions for the project and have good problem-solving skills.
You work closely with the VFX Supervisor to ensure the good outcome of the project
REQUIREMENTS :
You are trustworthy and you deliver your work on time.
You have excellent communication skills and you are a good team member.
Knowledge of Nuke, mel and python, a plus
You are rigorous and detail-focused
You are fluent in English or French and you are willing to relocate to Brussels
You have a EU work permit

You have an advanced working knowledge of Maya and experience in creating realistic rendered particle effects for feature films. (smoke, explosions, graphic effects,…)
Build efficient particle systems that work within technical constraints.
You propose artistic and technical solutions for the project and have good problem-solving skills.
You work closely with the VFX Supervisor to ensure the good outcome of the project
REQUIREMENTS :
You are autonomous, trustworthy and you deliver your work on time.
You have excellent communication skills and you are a good team member.
Knowledge of Houdini, Realflow, Fumefx, Nuke Particles , mel and python, a plus
You are rigorous and detail-focused
You are fluent in English or French and you are willing to relocate to Brussels

Lead Compositor Bruxelles :

Umedia VFXis a full service of visual effects for films with two twin-companies – one based in the epicenter of the post-production in London, the other on the Avenue Louise in Brussels – fully equipped to deliver high-end effects. We produced visual effects for over 15 years for feature films. For our upcoming projects, Umedia VFX is looking for an experienced Lead Compositor (M/F).
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Freelance – LOCATION : Brussels
Lead Compositors are responsible for seamlessly integrating the elements and layers of a shot, including live-action and CG elements.
Lead Compositors will work closely with Visual Effects Supervisor, VFX Producers to composite the numerous elements that complete a visual effects shot.
Seamless integration of live action, miniature and CGI layers in real live shots.
3D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements and color grading
Blue/green screen extractions
2.5D DMP Projection
Problem-solving of complex compositing issues in a creative way
Take part in reviews
Be able to manage a team of artists and share his knowledge
Essential skills and Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years feature film experience
An excellent working knowledge of Nuke, Mocha, Photoshop
Knowledge of Python, maya, 3d tracking software, after effect will be a plus.
Good understanding of the film pipeline
Critical eye for detail
Strong knowledge of composition and color
Knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting is helpful
Traditional artistic and design skills
Be responsible for managing your time
Good communication skills
Pro-active and accepting of changes
English and/or French speaker (mandatory)
