STUDY COORDINATOR :
OFFICE/DEPARTMENT: A FOGARTY Study on Caries/Oral Microbiome Study in Benin
SCHEDULED WORK TIMES: Monday – Friday
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education/Experience:
** Minimum requirement is Basic Nursing/ Midwifery Training
** Previous experience working in a research oriented environment is a plus
** Additional qualifications including degrees in Nursing, MPH etc. is a plus
** Working experience in a research environment will be an advantage
** Good organizational skills
** Good computer skills
** Excellent communication skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Interviewer is responsible for but not limited to:
** Assessing the eligibility of potential participants through methods such as screening interviews, review of medical records, and discussions with physicians, nurses and laboratory staff.
** Implements, collects and maintains data collection of all forms of research data.
** Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research (including sample and data collection)
** Recruits, instructs and coordinates research participants (this includes seeking informed consent)
** Acts as the primary administrative point of contact for local clinical and laboratory staff (this includes physicians, dentists, nurses etc.)
** Ensures that standard operative procedures are adhered to.
** Communicates updates on a regular basis to UBTH and UMB investigators within a weekly meeting. Coordinate the labeling, collection, storage and transfer of samples related to the study while maintaining a complete laboratory database.

INTERVIEWER :
OFFICE/DEPARTMENT: TRUST Study
SCHEDULED WORK TIMES: Monday – Friday
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR/REPORTS TO: TRUST Site Manager
OPERATIONAL CONTACTS/Primary working relationships will be with the following: TRUST Study Site Manager, TRUST Study Interviewers, TRUST Study Coupon Manager, TRUST Study clinical staff
SUMMARY/OVERVIEW :
The TRUST Study, a study on male to male transmission of HIV is evaluating the impact of providing comprehensive and integrated prevention, treatment and care. The Interviewer will conduct specific interviews for all participants and prepare participants for clinical evaluation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education/Experience:
** BS degree in any health related field/discipline is preferable
** Two or more years working with networks of hard to reach populations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
** Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills in English
** Additional communication skills in any Nigerian language
** Ability to maintain confidentiality and assist with situations that may require discretion
** Demonstrate understanding of the complexity of issues relating to HIV/AIDS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Interviewer is responsible for:
** Explaining the purpose and nature of the study to new participants joining the study
** Assessing participants understanding of the study including the nature of visits and samples to collected
** Answering participants questions and concern
** Taking written informed consent for participation in the study
** Performing HIV Counseling and Testing and preparing participants for clinical evaluation
