Job Objective :
To provide specialist input and support in evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications as it involves the design and analysis of piping systems, and to ensure that subordinate personnel are adequately supported and guided in the course of execution of the job, for the overall achievement of the project objective.

Job Responsibilities :
** Generally performs work, within Piping & Plant Layout discipline, which involves the preparation, interpretation and review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features.
** Administer and implement Company, and where applicable, Client/Project policies and procedures.
** Supervision of discipline personnel and allocation of work.
** Approval, checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation
** Undertake staff appraisals of discipline staff.
** Develop and enhance processes and systems for wider use in the discipline
** Undertake training of less experienced engineers, including duties as a mentor.
** Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.
** Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
** Ensure technical integrity of all discipline deliverables on the project
** Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
** Maintain the discipline of the group assigned and deal with the day-to-day matters pertaining to personnel.
** Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
** Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology
** Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors, clients, etc.
** Participate during key project reviews, plot plan reviews, HAZOP reviews, constructability review and Design/model review meetings.
** Assists in preparation of forecasts, material take offs and change orders.

Qualifications :
** Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.Eng./B. Tech. or Equivalent) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
** Possession of Higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
** A minimum of 15 years’ experience, which shall include minimum of 12 years of onshore/offshore engineering design in the oil and gas industry.
** Candidates within Nigeria must be COREN registered, while applicants from outside Nigeria must belong to professional bodies registerable with COREN.

Skills :
** Good knowledge of the relevant Piping & Plant Layout codes and standards.
** Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, etc.
** Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
** Fluency in English Language, spoken and written.
** Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams environment.
** Good inter-personal leadership, coaching, communication and presentation skills.
** Highly experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise
** Experienced in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
** Competent in commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
** Experienced in estimating man-hours and materials for most aspects of work.
** Experienced in working with other disciplines and sections to meet delivery dates.
** Highly experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
** Experienced in design safety / environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates
** Competent in leading, supervising and the organization of a small/medium sized single discipline team within a project.
