SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER :
Reporting to General Manager, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
KEY OBJECTIVES :
** To plan, organize and co-ordinate all sales and marketing activities for the Hotels
** To meet annual sales and marketing financial goals and unit budget allocation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
** Formulating and implementing sound marketing plans, policies, procedures, and marketing strategies.
** Organize marketing campaigns to promote brand awareness and improve customer loyalty and traffic.
** Develops new products and marketing strategies within approved budgets to attract clients.
** Establish and maintain good corporate relations and implement customer care management programs.
** Monitor and advise on the marketing trends and competition through marketing intelligence survey.
** Markets the Hotel’s products & services through field visits, telephone, e-mails, letters, brochures, face to face talks and media coverage with existing and potential clients
** Preparing and presenting marketing reports.
** Review comments from customers on products and services and take corrective action.
** Spearhead and co-ordinate theme nights and festivity events.
** Budget preparation for the department.
** Identifies public relation issues and advises the General Manager on how to resolve such issues
** Coordinates all the units marketing activities
** Ensures that marketing activities are within the approved budget
** Ensure performance targets are met.
Minimum Requirements:
** Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing Option).
** Must be a member of a relevant professional marketing body.
** Proficiency in computer application, especially in accounting packages and systems
** Thorough knowledge of the Hotel’s products and services
** Knowledge of the operating environment
** At least three years’ experience in a 4 star hotel in a similar capacity.

HOTEL MANAGER :
The Job Scope :
The hotel manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a hotel.
Should have commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and directing all hotel services, including front-office (reception, reservations), food and beverage operations and housekeeping.
While taking a strategic overview and planning ahead to maximize profits, the manager must also pay attention to the details, setting the example for staff to deliver a standard of service and presentation that meets guests’ needs and expectations.
Business and people management are equally important elements.
Key result areas :
** planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services;
** promoting and marketing the business;
** managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure;
** setting and achieving sales and profit targets;
** analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies;
** planning work schedules for individuals and teams within the hotel;
** dealing with customer complaints and comments;
** addressing problems and troubleshooting;
** ensuring events and conferences run smoothly;
** supervising maintenance, renovations and furnishings;
** dealing with contractors and suppliers;
** ensuring security is effective;
** carrying out inspections of property and services;
** ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Education, skills & competencies :
** A Management Diploma in Hospitality Management from Kenya Utalii College.
** Minimum 5 years experience in hotel operations in a similar position.
** Strong marketing and good customer service skills
** Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
** Strong analytical skills and the ability to offer creative and practical solutions to difficult problems.
** Sound financial management skills suitable to derive sound financial decisions within the organization.
** Exposure to star operations
Age limit : 35 – 45 years
