General :
As a researcher and software R&D engineer you will develop cutting-edge computer vision and image processing algorithms to enable current and future VistaLink products and services. You closely follow-up the newest developments, within your area of expertise, so that you can make the correct choice when developing new features. You evaluate and select new techniques, materials and components to be used in future developments. You are the first point of contact for our customers for new projects. You study their request, draft a report and elaborate the quotes for our customers, in close cooperation with the project coordinators and the account managers. Based on a customer’s request you are capable of inventing/developing tailor made technical and software solutions and/or a system architecture to realize new vision projects. You will define and draft specifications for new projects. You draft the “Functional Design Specifications” from which our project engineers derive a “Hardware Design specification” that will be used by our customers or subcontractors to implement the job. You evaluate the workload and elaborate a well-structured project plan according to our standards. You will closely follow-up the projects that have been assigned to you, to make sure budget and deadlines are met and the project is executed according to the highest quality standards. For new project demands, more specifically in the pharmaceutical industry, you will execute the site survey and decide which equipment will be used to implement serialization and aggregation projects. You document your analyses and decisions meticulously throughout the life of the project. You report to the COO about the status, the risks and the points of attention of the projects. You report the results proactively to the management.

Your Profile :
Civil or industrial engineer electricity / electronics / informatics, or equivalent through experience.

You are experienced with programming languages such as VB.Net / C#.Net. You have strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong computer vision and image processing background. Demonstrated ability in both research and development. Experience integrating computer vision and image processing algorithms into applications. You are experienced in working with multidisciplinary and cross-site teams. Additional experience with third party software suppliers is a plus. You are good at documenting your analysis and decisions. You are a good communicator, result oriented and a team player.

You are able to work on a high conceptual level. You never forget about quality and the customer. You’re able to work autonomously and to define the priorities in your job. You have good knowledge of both the country languages and English (written and verbal) You’re flexible and willing to travel for short periods of time all over Europe.

Junior Vision Project Engineer :

General :
After an intensive training period, partly in-house, partly at our supplier’s training premises you will define technical solutions, software design and system architecture for vision projects based on a specification or URS (User Requirement Specifications). You’ll draft the “Hardware Design Specifications” which will be used by our customers or subcontractors to implement the job. You’ll evaluate the workload and elaborate a well-structured project plan according to our standards. You will closely follow-up the projects that have been assigned to you, to make sure budget and deadlines are met and the project is executed according to the highest quality standards. You’ll document your analyses and decisions meticulously throughout the life of the project. You’ll report to het project manager about the status, the risks and the points of attention of the projects. You report the results proactively to the project manager and the management.

Later you will also implement very specific serialization projects at our customers in the pharmaceutical industry. You will not only implement them, but also be responsible for documenting and validating these projects.

Your profile :
Industrial engineer electricity / electronics / informatics, or equivalent through experience.

You already have some experience with programming languages such as VB.Net / C#.Net or you are keen to learn it. You are good at documenting your analysis and decisions. You are a good communicator, result oriented and a team player. You are familiar with the usual Microsoft Office© applications.
Only candidates, already resident in Belgium, will be considered. Knowledge of Dutch; French and English is mandatory.
