Transport Engineer/Planner : Expected Senior/Principal Consultant level
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced transport engineer/planner to join the ITP team. Ideally, the position would be based in our Milton Keynes office, but we would consider a base in London, Birmingham or Nottingham for the right candidate. We have identified the development planning (transport) sector as a market we would like to expand in, and you would play an important role in developing and servicing projects in this area. We would also expect the skills and experience you have as a transport engineer/planner to be applicable to our other areas of work, including policy and strategy development and feasibility studies for public and private sector clients. There may also be opportunities to become involved in international projects.
As part of your role, you will be expected to :
** Manage and lead Transport Assessments and Statements
** Contribute to and lead on transport aspects of development planning projects
** Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and local authorities
** Undertake all the technical aspects of Transport Assessments and Statements
** Contribute to other projects as required
** Supervise and train junior members of staff
** Help us grow

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience :
** Excellent inter-personal and communication skills (required)
** Excellent report-writing skills (required)
** Transport Assessment leadership and management (required)
** General development planning knowledge and experience (required)
** Traffic engineering, including junction design (required), and signals (preferably)
** Public inquiry/EIP experience (preferred)
** Highway design (preferred)
** Negotiation skills (preferred)
** Scheme costing (preferred)
** TPP qualified (preferred)
